STATEMENT
Lorena Pagkalou is a contemporary artist from Greece, currently based in Chania, Crete. Working across multiple mediums including acrylics, watercolors, oils, colored pencils, inks and markers Lorena’s art captures both the vivid intensity of emotion and the quiet beauty of everyday moments. Her work merges expressive figuration with dreamlike symbolism, resulting in compositions that feel deeply personal yet universally resonant.
Growing up surrounded by the light and landscapes of Greece, Lorena developed a sensitivity to color, atmosphere and form. Her works often delve into intimate aspects of her personal life, confronting themes such us solitude, body image, and emotional turbulence. She explores identity and human fragility with a poetic honesty and a vibrant colorful approach.
Through all of her projects, Lorena continues to evolve as an artist committed to honesty, curiosity and creative freedom. Her paintings are personal yet universal- bridging emotion, memory and imagination in a way that invites viewers to pause, feel and reflect.
